Welcome to
THE CROSSING is a student led non-profit organization at UW-Madison, that is multifaith, inclusive, collaborative, and human rights centered in its purpose. It continues to operate as a UW Registered Student Organization.
The Crossing welcomes a diverse community of students, supports their spiritual exploration as well as existing commitments to personal beliefs. We celebrate the alignment among Christian and non-Christian traditions with regard to advocacy for marginalized, dehumanized or at risk communities. “The stranger is my neighbor “ is interfaith and a teaching of Jesus. At The Crossing all students are welcome to enjoy free or low cost delicious, hot meals on a daily basis. The meal service mission is supported by a dedicated food sustainability mission that is focused on healthy accessible food and a reduction of food waste.
the Bible like all sacred texts deserve critical analysis, granting privilege to none, while we navigate the complexities of values and ethics from an inclusive faith perspective.
Our weekly “Wednesday dinner-dialogue” gathering is casual, has great food, inspired speakers and intentional discussions about compelling topics for students.
The Crossing is partnered with Slow Food Cafe, the Food Recovery Network, and UW Frozen Meals Program, who all serve meals at THE CROSSING. See our calendar for meal service days & times.
ALL students are welcome! The Crossing has no belief requirements. We welcome students regardless of religious or political affiliations or the absence of such commitments. Come, explore, learn and collaborate at The Crossing!
