Welcome to
THE CROSSING is a student led non-profit organization at UW-Madison, that is multifaith, inclusive and human rights centered in its mission. It is also a UW Registered Student Organization.
The Crossing welcomes a diverse community of students and supports spiritual exploration with focused, student-led advocacy. Students enjoy comfortable study spaces, small group exploration and a variety of special events each semester. Our beautiful, historic building was built in 1917 and is a warm space for shared meals. Most days of the week students will find a free or low cost delicious, hot meal here.
We study sacred texts critically, without privilege, as we consider the complexities of ethics from an inclusive faith perspective. Our weekly Wednesday dinner gathering includes music, great food, speakers and intentional discussions about compelling justice issues. We also support students in clarifying their academic and professional goals.
The Crossing is partnered with Slow Food Cafe, the Food Recovery Network, and UW Frozen Meals Program, who all serve meals at THE CROSSING. See our calendar for meal service days & times.
ALL students are welcome! The Crossing has no belief requirements. We welcome students regardless of religious or political affiliations or the absence of such commitments. Come and explore at The Crossing!
